1. Purpose of the test: The uniaxial compressive strength test is a method for determining the uniaxial compressive strength of regular-shaped rock specimens, and is mainly used for strength classification and lithology description of rocks. This method uses the compressive strength of a rock cube (or cylinder) specimen in a saturated state to evaluate rock strength (including the original rock strength of gravel or pebbles). In some cases, the water-containing state of the specimen can also be selected from the natural state, the dried state or the state after freeze-thaw cycles according to the needs. The water state of the test piece shall be indicated in the test report.
